Roy Martin
(Chairman) - Current Chairman of the
Board for the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame and Museum. Roy is a
Rockcastle County native having grown up in Renfro Valley the
son of Emory & Linda Martin, longtime performers on the Renfro
Valley Barn Dance. He is married to the former Pamela Cummins,
has three children and five grandchildren. He and his wife,
Pamela, own and operate the Dowell and Martin Funeral Home and
Sparks Flowers and More in Mount Vernon, Kentucky.

J. David Jury (Vice
Chairman) - David is a partner in
Financial Risk Management Associates, a bank consulting group
located in northern Kentucky. He is a former banker serving as
CEO of the Bank of Mt. Vernon and Boone National Bank and former
regulator serving as Community Bank Supervisor for the Federal
Reserve Bank of Cleveland and Director, Division of Banking for
the Kentucky Department of Financial Institutions. He has served
on various boards of directors including the Kentucky Bankers
Association, Community Bankers Association, Rockcastle Business
Development and Hospices Care of Madison County. A native of
Nelson County, David has always had a real interest in music. He
lives in Florence, Kentucky, with his wife, Tammy, daughter
Morgan and son Bradley. David is currently the Vice Chairman of
the Board of the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame and Museum.

Karen King
(Secretary/Treasurer) – Karen has
served on the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame board since 1999.
Karen is the Secretary-Treasurer and serves as a member of the
Executive Board. Ms King has always been involved in the civic
activities of Mount Vernon and Rockcastle County and believes
that everyone should serve in their community. Karen is
self-employed and enjoys her children and grandchildren.

Mark Shepherd-
Mark is a partner in the law firm of Coy, Gilbert, and Gilbert.
Mark is a member of
the University of Kentucky College of Law Lafferty Society and
is a University of Kentucky Fellow, as well as a Life Fellow of
the Kentucky Bar Association. He and his wife, Jodie, have two
children, Sam and Lauren, and live in Richmond, Kentucky.

Fred
Brashear- Fred is a third
generation banker who has been President and CEO of the Hyden
Citizens Bank, Inc., for over twenty-five years. Mr. Brashear
serves on the Board of Directors for Middlefork Financial
Group, Inc., Hyden Citizens Bank, Inc., Farmers
State Bank at Booneville, Farmers and Traders Bank at
Campton and Middlefork Insurance Agency. Active in
community functions, he serves as Vice Chairman of Coal
Fields Industrial Park, the Board of Hazard Independent
College Foundation, Kentucky School of Bluegrass and
Traditional Music Foundation, Kentucky Historical Society
Executive Committee and Vice Chairman of Housing
Development Alliance. Professionally, he is Chairman of
the Kentucky Bankers Participation Employee Participating
Committee, KBA Board of Directors and the American
Bankers Association Community Bank Council. Mr. Brashear
resides in Hyden with his wife Rhonda and has two grown children
Joel and Rachel, grandchildren Tripp, Jules and Chloe.

Jeff
Vanhook- Jeff is a Rockcastle
County native and the son of Gene and Julia Vanhook of Stanford,
KY. His appreciation for music stems from growing up listening
to his father, a musician and songwriter, perform at churches
and community festivals . To say music was a part of the
Vanhook family’s household growing up would be an
understatement, particularly Bluegrass and Gospel. Since
Graduating from Transylvania University in 1990, Jeff has served
Rockcastle County as a member of various boards and community
groups including the Tourist Commission, Property Valuation
Dispute Resolution Board, District School Board and Leadership
Rockcastle. Jeff currently serves as a corporate officer for
Codell Construction Company located in Winchester, KY. In his
role as Controller, Vanhook is responsible for the accounting
department and is actively involved in the policy and planning
decisions of the organization. Jeff also maintains a
partnership in the on-line furniture warehouse business, Bowling
Green Overstock.com. Mr. VanHook resides in Mount Vernon with
his wife, Sonya, and their children Courtlyn and Jackson. The
Vanhooks are members of Brodhead Baptist Church and serve as
Sunday School teachers to the 6, 7 and 8th grade
student's class.
Kim Owens-
Kim, along with her husband Jerry, own J and K Kreations
Photography. They specialize in both traditional and
photojournalistic style images. Kim is the former Postmaster of
Mount Vernon KY and Richmond KY. She is active in the National
Association of Postmasters of the United States (NAPUS);
currently serving as national photographer for NAPUS Retirees;
Secretary of Kentucky NAPUS Retired and NAPUS Political Action
Campaign chairperson for the state chapter, both active and
retired members. Kim is a member of the Richmond Chamber of
Commerce, PACA (Pattie A Clay Hospital Auxiliary), Eastern
Kentucky University Colonel Club, Professional Photographers of
America (PPA) and the Kentucky Professional Photographers of
America. (KPPA).

Katy Stephenson-
Katy is General Manager of the Ramada Conference Center in
Lexington, Kentucky. She is a resident of Madison County, is
married to Woody Stephenson and has two children and two
grandchildren. Katy has spent thirty-seven years ih the
hospitality industry and currently serves on the Board of
Directors of the Bluegrass Hospitality Association and the
Kentucky Restuarant Association, is a committe member of the
Taste of the Bluegrass, PACA and EKU Colonel Club.

Bentley Cromer-
Bentley is a life-long resident of
Rockcastle County. He is the owner of Cromer Trucking, LLC and
has also been a Sales Tech for Indianapolis, IN based D-A
Lubricant Company for the past nineteen years where he has
received numerous awards for national sales accomplishments.
Music had played a major role in Bentley’s life since the mid
1970’s when he began performing with local bands. He started the
Wild River Band over twenty years ago and now manages the band
that performs for many local charitable functions. Bentley is
married to Leila Cromer. Most recently, Bentley became the
recipient of the prestigious Everett C. Brown Community Service
Award.

Bill Jennings-
Bill is one of the recent additions to the Board of Directors.
A seventh generation Madison Countian, he is a Distinguished
Alumni of Eastern Kentucky University and received his law
degree from the University of Kentucky Law School. At the time
of his retirement he had served as judge in the Kentucky Court
of Justice for more than 30 years. Bill and his wife, Jackie,
live in Richmond.

Lisa Smithern-
Lisa is a Rockcastle
County native and is very involved in civic activities in
Rockcastle County. Lisa is a 1994 graduate of Midway College,
Lisa is a Registered Nurse and the Clinical Coordinator at the
Rockcastle Medical Arts and has been an employee of the
Rockcastle Regional Hospital since 1993. Lisa loves people and
that is why nursing is so easy for her. Lisa and her husband
Jeff are co-owners of J&J Auction and FSR Mini Storage in Mt.
Vernon. Lisa and Jeff reside in Mount Vernon with there two
beautiful daughters Brookelynn 10 and Katielynn 4. Lisa and her
family attend Grace Baptist church.
David Tapp-
David serves as Judge of the 28th Judicial Circuit
and he formerly served as district judge, prosecutor, private
attorney, law enforcement officer, and educator. He is
currently active in community charitable and church activities
and is a frequent presenter at judicial education conferences.
Raised in Morehead, Kentucky, David was exposed to music of all
varieties by his college professor parents. David and his late
wife Patty resided in Virginia and Hawaii before returning to
Kentucky to make their home in Somerset with their three
daughters, Katherine, Adrian, and Morgan.
